Municipal Public Service Properties 

• The Recent Municipal Buildings

The recent municipality headquarters consists of two buildings, the main building located in the city entrance, has the mayor’s office, and the departments of administration, public relations, Oss, procurement unite, legal advisor, as well as the financial department. The second building is Dar Abu Sa’da, located in the old town, and has the engineering department, projects and planning department, as well as the GIS unite.  

• The New Municipality Building (Al Masmaka)

Beit Sahour Municipality has built a new building which will be its new headquarters and will have all unites and departments under one roof, located in the city center. Al Masmaka has also the Bank of Palestine’s branch of Beit Sahour operating in it, in addition to various shops and stores.  

• Beit Sahour Commercial Center (Mini Center)

This is the first partnership project which the municipality has executed in cooperation with the private sector in the city. The mini commercial center is a social zone that has shops, cafes, clinics, clothing stores, and restaurants as well as various offices.  

• Ush Ghurab Public Peace Park

Located to the east of Beit Sahour, sitting on top of a spacious hill spread out over dozens of acres of open land. Until 2006, this hillside land was occupied by an Israeli, military base. In cooperation with many local organizations that included schools, non-governmental organizations, private businesses and international donors, a series of renovation and restoration projects have been carried out in Ush Ghurab to transform it into a Public Peace Park. A large stage, a restaurant, a climbing tower, a football field and a park are all part of this development on the hillside. The story of Ush Ghurab is a bright star of hope and peace in a land ravaged by uncertainty, bloodshed and war. The Municipality of Beit Sahour has regenerated, redesigned and refined Ush Ghurab to make it environmentally healthy, suitable and safe for children to play.

• Dar Dakkarat Community Center

Dar Dakkarat is a big old house located in one of the old town’s entrances, bought by the municipality from the original owners and was turned into a social cultural form as well as a community center where cultural and social events take place, municipal delegations are welcomed, public meetings are held.
