Mihwar Centre for Protection and Empowerment of Women and Families

Mihwar is a Palestinian community centre designed to support and strengthen family relations, reduce domestic violence and assist women and children in defending their rights. The centre, so-called ‘The Safe Home’, offers a range of services for women and girls who are victims of violence in the community, including social support and health guidance. After the rehabilitation of these women and girls, the centre offers vocational training to help them find sustainable careers in which they can succeed in the future. The centre also provides a kindergarten equipped with a specialized staff and a unit for social and psychological counselling to deal with problems between parents and their children.
