Beit Sahour is renowned for its exceptional educational achievements, boasting the highest concentration of educated individuals in Palestine and holding the distinguished title of the Middle East’s top city for university degree holders. With an impressively low illiteracy rate of under 2.5%, education is paramount in Beit Sahour, reflecting its residents’ strong commitment to learning. Remarkably, over 24% of the literate population have attained higher education degrees.
The city’s educational landscape is diverse and comprehensive, comprising five public schools overseen by the Palestinian Ministry of Education and an additional five private schools operated by religious institutions and churches. Notably, Al Farah School, also known as the School of Joy, offers specialized services for children with special educational needs, while four centers cater to the education and rehabilitation of individuals with special needs.
In addition to formal schooling, Beit Sahour boasts five kindergartens managed by charitable societies, underscoring the community’s dedication to early childhood education.
