Expatriates Week, day three: expatriates visit the city’s charitable, humanitarian and religious institutions

On the third day of Beit Sahour Expatriates Week, Friday 24 July 2026, the city’s expatriates, accompanied by the Mayor and members of the Municipal Council, visited the Islamic Charitable Society, Al-Waha Centre for people with special needs and the Church of St John of Damascus.

The visits introduced Beit Sahour’s expatriates to the charitable, humanitarian and religious institutions of their city, highlighting their mission and their vital role in serving the people of Beit Sahour and the Bethlehem Governorate, and the programmes and services they offer in humanitarian work and religious tourism.

During the visits, the institutions’ management gave an overview of their aims, services and activities, along with their main achievements and the challenges they face in the current circumstances. The expatriates learned about the central role these institutions play in supporting residents’ resilience and promoting the values of giving and solidarity, reflecting the distinctive humanitarian and religious character of Beit Sahour, the City of Shepherds.

The visits are part of efforts to strengthen ties between the city’s people at home and abroad and to open new ways of supporting local institutions and sustaining their mission.
