Beit Sahour Municipality receives the Greek Consul General in Jerusalem
Beit Sahour Municipality, represented by Mayor Laith Hazim Qumsiyeh, received the Greek Consul General in Jerusalem, Mr. Dimitrios Angelosopoulos, accompanied by his office director Mrs. Matilda Inshiwat, on the afternoon of Tuesday 1 September 2026, in the presence of several members of the Municipal Council and Mrs. Maha Al-Atrash, director of the Public Relations Department.
The meeting discussed the situation in the Ush Ghurab area and the challenges caused by settlement expansion, along with a number of issues of interest to both sides.
The two sides also discussed joint projects to be carried out by the Municipality and the Greek Consulate to support the city and its residents, especially amid difficult economic and political conditions, among them projects to develop and rehabilitate infrastructure, and explored activating and opening new prospects for cooperation and twinning with Greek cities.
The meeting affirmed the importance of continued cooperation and coordination to strengthen the city’s resilience and meet the needs of its residents.
